Hitting Instruction

“Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten and be considered a good performer.” – Ted Williams

Hitting can be one of the most discouraging aspects of the game of baseball, but through positive reinforcement, excellent instruction, and the right attitude, it can also be one of the most rewarding.

Below are the basic principles of our hitting instruction

  • Having an athletic, aggressive approach to offense
  • Keep the head still and maintain a consistent eye level
  • Rotate to the ball using the lower half of the body, thereby generating torque
  • Proper positioning and timing of elbows and hands as they follow the lower half to the ball is key
  • Snap the wrists to contact and drive the arms to full extension in front of the body
  • Finish the swing around the shoulder to decelerate and maintain balance and athleticism
